Wind and Water

God is in the WIND and the WATER “I once listened to an Indian on television say that God was in the wind and the water, and I wondered at how beautiful that was because it meant you could swim in Him or have Him brush your face in a breeze.”

Donald Miller wrote that in his book Blue Like Jazz. He is an author who writes about Christianity in a "non-religious" way. His views on Christianity are very refreshing and relatable.

  •   God is in the WIND.

Every time we step outside he wisps our hair into frenzied excitement, reminding us that His presence is everlasting.

  •   God is in the WATER.

Every time we get thirsty we drink Him in to replenish our physical strength.

God is in everything. God is LOVE.

Sweet Disposition

Sweet Disposition

This past summer 2011 I spent 3 weeks hanging out with the children at Asha Mission Children's Home in Delhi, India. There are 35 children living at the home and they are all such lights to the world. They sing and dance and just being in their presence makes me feel like a kid again. They are mischievous while playing card games and diligent while doing homework. This is a photo of Rabinder (Rabin for short). I became quite fond of him while in India. I'm not sure how old he is, maybe 8 or so. Rabinder has the sweetest disposition, and do you see that smile? It takes up half his face! Rabinder's laugh is so contagious and his hugs are worth more than anything in the world. I miss him so much, he is so dear to me and I think of him often. Hopefully I will get to return to Asha this summer and see his smiling face again!

Ashraya Mission, a Shelter and Home for Children in India

Tonight founder of Ashraya Mission, Katie Beth Gill, is having a Christmas party celebrating the opening of Ashraya Mission Children’s home. She has been in India for the past 4 or so months working on the home getting it ready for all the children that will soon be living there, and I have not seen her since I was over there back in August! I will see her tonight and I am oh so excited! About Ashraya “Ashraya Mission is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to establishing after care homes for at risk children in India-including those trafficked in the sex industry.  The mission of Ashraya Mission is to provide quality medical care, trauma counseling, art/music therapy, education, proper nutrition and an exposure to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through these mechanisms, Ashraya Mission aims to be a refuge and a place of redemption for these children.”

With it being a non profit, Ashraya will always be in need of donations. If you feel called to be a part of this cause you can donate here —>  http://www.ashrayamission.com/donate/ and help impact the lives of children and young people in India.
